  • Initiated, planned and set up North American editorial and business office in New York.

  • Implemented growth strategy by establishing a marketing department,redesigning journal, increasing international revenue by 20% and global revenue by 45%, introducing full DTP systems and developing electronic database, and undertaking global market research on information sources utilized by physicians.

  • Initiated, planned and published Nursing Times Open Learning Program - sales of £2 million in second year, 17,000 graduates to date.
  • Devised and planned the Nature research journals, commencing with Nature Genetics published from Washington - profitable in first year.
  • Took control of editorial budgets for the five weekly magazines by active involvement of Editors in planning and monitoring all costs.
  • Transformed Conference department into profit center.
